Kane County Felony Records Online
Kane County has an online case search portal where you can look up felony records by case number or party name. This is a free tool for single-case lookups. The portal shows case details, hearing dates, and docket entries for criminal cases filed in the 16th Circuit.
If you do not have a case number, the clerk's office charges a $6.00 research fee for staff to locate the records. Archived records without an electronic copy cost an additional $6.00 per year searched. This is common across Illinois counties.

Kane County Felony Record Fees
Copy fees in Kane County follow standard state rates. The first page is $2.00. Pages two through twenty are $0.50 each. Pages beyond that are $0.25. Certification costs $6.00 per seal. If you do not have a case number, add the $6.00 research fee per case. For archived records that have no electronic copy, the search fee is $6.00 per year.

Felony Record Laws in Kane County
Kane County law enforcement must report all felony arrests to the Illinois State Police under the Criminal Identification Act (20 ILCS 2630). These cost $10 electronically through the ISP.
The Unified Code of Corrections (730 ILCS 5) defines sentencing for Kane County felony cases. The same class structure applies: X, 1, 2, 3, and 4.
